Yesterday, my son told me he was talking to one of the ladies here in our town that has a LOT of pull in the community. Well....he was telling her about my chickens, and how we are trying to start a Farm Rescue. Well, she wants to come out here with the local news paper...and do a story on our little place.

Would it be ok, if I plugged BYC ? Just wanted to make sure....before the reporters get here.
Im not ready for reporters!! I have to get some of those little shoe covers for everyone that comes out. I think I can get them at the local medical supply store. Anything else you can think of that might help me cover the whole biosecurity thing? Now Im getting nervous!

Hi Deb, how cool, I'd be nervous too. here's a link from EZBYC on biosecurity.It's more towards the commerical end but might help ya out some.

Miriam....Thanks so much. I am taking every precaution I can. Im not sure what all we are going to need, hopeing to get some more info when they come out. I have looked everywhere ( animal controll, dog and cat rescue, even wildlife centers) No one seems to know what I might need to be "legal" We are just starting the process....but, when I get it going, I will let everyone know. I wish everyone that could, would rescue animals. For us, it will be farm animals only.

I went today and ordered the disposable shoe covers, for when they come out. I hope they are not offended if I ask them to wear them when near the coops. Just cant be too carefull!
