They are quite pretty, when they are chicks the colouring is almost the opposite with a gold head and black body, but as my chick is getting older her gold is coming through. The photo I shall of Margaret (the gold and brown one she's the Vorwerk) and Kate, its short for Bob, (he's the Porcelain Bantam cockerel.) They are kept in the house right now so my dog is always sat next to them either listening to them or wanting to play, but he's a little too big for that.Hi, Hannah, welcome to BYC! I love it when people mention a chicken breed I don't know yet, and I get to go look it up. I knew Vorwerk had to be a German name. Looking at the images online, wow, that's a striking coloration, very pretty. I was highly amused by this in the Wikipedia article:
"Though it is unrelated to the German company which produces the Vorwerk vacuum cleaner, it is the only chicken to share its name with a brand of household appliance."
