HI, My name is Nannette and I'm a chicken-aholic... At least it seems like it so far. How bad is this when I don't even have the critters at our house yet!
So, I just finished reading all 15 pages of the what I should of done on the coop ....Wow, I wish I would have found this group before I'd already spent the last 3 days on my Chicken tractor/behemoth!-that is still not done, sigh
My 5 3/4 year old is bringing home two recycled brahma bantams as soon as I finish building. (Oh, and we are going to the chicken 4-h group meeting tomorrow......)
Then I'm going to start converting the front of our garden shed into a larger coop for layers, probably about 8, because that's the smallest # I've found I could get my hands on whenever I am ready.
Couldn't get the consenting vote from the other side in a chicken timely fashion so now we're ragtagging it!!
Anyway, I've only managed to read a few books so far and still have humongous gaps in the things I need to know department, I am hoping that living with the wee beasties will help clear this up,
being here too. Thanks for all the help so far, even though now I just want to start all over but, .... well, no way -I'm too tired!
Got to go and get some zzzzzs now or risk not finishing tomorrow -the boy would be so dissappointed, I can't remember the last time I built anything... Oh yeah, and of course I wasn't about to spend money on a PLAN! Super Mom takes a nosedive! yahoo!
Well, I'll fill in elswhere on the appropriate topic, I think! So happy to be infected with the chicken craziness, I can't wait to see Hitachi and Caterpillar out in the yard. How cute are those names? He's such a boy!
Nannette Evans - on the gorgeous Oregon coast with my wonderful hubby who has been very patient with my building mania, the best boy ever, two terrific dogs, two snuggly kits and soon, very soon... our very own cluckers!!!
