Hey There! VA newbie here!

Thank you all so much!! I have Tractor Supply here, Southern States almost an hour away. They have Nutrena NatureWise Layer - Do you recommend crumbles or pellets? What is the difference? Do you recommend feeding some at different times or do you recommend having food available at all times. I am told to keep her in a run for a while until everybody adjusts and she knows this is home now.

Crumbles are easier for the birds to eat. I'd say start with crumbles but if you see a lot of waste (and end up having her long enough to need another bag of feed) then switch to pellets to try and reduce waste.

Thank you pipAchick - I caught her!!! Yay!! She was up about 6 foot in a pine tree so I pulled the limb down as slow as I could and grabber her like a football - just a little bit of arguing but calmed right down. I have her in a dog crate in the dark garage with water and since my Tractor Supply run is in the morning I gave her some bread and corn. Thanks to the help and warm welcomes everyone! She has been in my yard and woods since Friday and I havent seen any eggs - maybe after she is settled and calm she will pop out a dozen

That is great! Hope someone advised you to also buy oyster shells (which she will need to keep her egg shells hard - don't mix with feed, just offer in a separate container and she will eat it when she needs it). Also, will need to be offered grit since she is no longer "free ranging".

limited25 I got oyster shells at Tractor Supply, so I am good there! What is grit? Is it just lil rocks or is it something I need to go out and get? After she settles down and we have her in her run for a while where I feel she wont run off she will be free rangin it again but want to make sure I have everything her and her new family we are picking up Saturday need until they can roam free. Today I got - coop - layer crumbles - mealworm and oat treat to get her used to coming into the coop in the evenings - feeder n waterer - pine shavings (met a man at TS that has a wood shop that will keep me in stock from now on) - straw for nesting boxes. Thank you so much!!!
