I grew up in the beautiful Pacific Northwest in Oregon, but moved to Southwrn Alabama nearly 3 years ago and LOVE it! (Okay, not the copperhead snakes, fire ants and the humidity, but everything else!)
I fell in love with Serama chicken first time I saw them. I started out with 2 pair of Frizzles - Ricky & Lucy, Fred & Ethel… who is now known as Blanche, as she keeps disappearing overnight… and my newest addition is Gracie, who is a double Frizzle. I wasn’t planning on having chicks but Lucy then disappeared and when I finally found her, she was already sitting on 8 eggs, so I guess that’s that.
I do alterations as a side-hustle to help supplement my social security bare income. I enjoy knitting, quilting, making greeting cards and learning about using new power tools and what kind of mischief (mayhem) I can get myself into… so far, I have converted my cheapo chicken coop from Amazon into a tractor coop so I can move it around myself AND keep it from being blown over/away as it seems to be made from Balsa wood (remember those glider airplanes you could buy for a quarter at Woolworth’s?)
I also have 2 inside kitties, Marshie (Marshall), my handsome Lynx point Siamese, and Zinnia, my wild tabby. I’m a widow and my only child lives in Brooklyn, so at least I’m a bit closer to her than the West coast as before.
BYC - it popped up on my Facebook feed and looked interesting!
