So you have 2 hens, 2 pullets and a cockerel. Sounds like a perfect ratio to me. If you aren't prohibited from keeping a rooster then keep him as part of your flock. Separating him gains nothing except a very unhappy lonely cockerel. His little group is his family and unless something happens to indicate otherwise I don't see a problem. The older hens will teach him how to behave.He has 2 girls his age brooded together. The 3 moved in with 2 3yr old hens. One cant hold her own well against him...... i have a pen within their coop.....has everything....temped to keep him in there away from the girls until free range. can this work?
