My name is Beth, I’m a 21 year old nursing student with a slight chicken obsession. My mom always had chickens growing up so about this time last year the hubby and I decided fresh eggs would be a lovely idea. It all started with a box of 15 little fluff balls and quickly spiraled out of control from there. A mere year and a half later after a few tragic run ins with predators, one mean rooster, a broody hen, and many unsupervised trips to the feed store we have a beautiful rainbow flock of 70 birds. My girls are a nice mix of good layers, pretty colors (pretty eggs too), feathered feet, polish crests and a few bantams. I can’t wait to see what I can learn from everyone here!

Hi Beth, it's nice to have you here! What breed of chickens are you raising?
Well... this may take a minute.
Currently I have white crested/blue/silver laced/buff polish, buff and white Orpingtons, white and red leghorns, barred rocks, red stars, Rhode Island reds, Americaunas/Easter Eggers, speckled Sussex, cuckoo marans, whiting true blues/greens, dark brahmas, black giants, silver & golden laced Wyandotte, black minorcas, blue Andalusian, welsummers, black copper marans, some polish crosses I had a hen hatch out this spring & assorted bantams!
