Do I have to close the Pop Door?

I have a secure coop and run and use a auto door just for that extra piece of mind. If something did get in the run it does not have free entry to the coop. My brother has an open air coop, man sized doorway always open and he never loses chickens while in the run.

The blocks will be pressed up against the run base (so the chickens can nibble the fresh herbs if desired) with the mesh apron running 8-10inches out in front of it.
If you want to really be sure to be safe, extend the apron 18" from the edge of the blocks, as the blocks do compromise the functionality of the apron somewhat by shortening the amount of coverage. It's unlikely that anything would dig that distance, but by putting the edge of the run (the blocks in this case) closer to the edge of the apron, there's still a slight risk that something could back up and find the edge of the apron and start tunneling under.
