Well like the title says, we're from SW Virginia, and about as south as you can get. We're only about 15 minutes from the NC line, and live at the bottom of the Blue Ridge mountains.

We decided to hop on here because we are starting back up with our chickens again. We took a few years break, but missed all the benefits of having them. Our username "TwoJsRoost" is because both mine and my wonderful wife's names start with J. We have an amazing son at the wide open age of 7, and a super great daughter that's 18 and a current student at VT (Go Hokies), and the best dog we've ever had, Gypsy.

We recently got 7 new chicks, 6 Black Australorps, and my wife picked out a Lavender Orpington for her birthday. We're currently in the process of building a new coop and run for our new girls, but the old one will have to do until we get it finished. Excited to be on here and looking forward to tons of great info.

Welcome from Georgia, the Poultry capital of the world (2018).. Glad you have joined this chicken crazy board.

Here is a quick link to the articles area, lots of info on this forum, just look around. Also if you have a specific question the search engine (top right) is actually very good..
