New here...been gathering info from Backyard Chickens for months...finally decided to join! Looking forward to it! Finishing our coop this weekend and have decided to go with Rhode Island Reds, Barred Rock, and Buff Orpingtons. We are wanting dual purpose birds and from my research... I think these are our best options. Open to any suggestions tho...

RIR and BR are both great breeds. Australorps are sweet and good layers and they are hardy! As are Buckeyes if you can find a breeder nearby. Check out the Breeds section for more ideas and enjoy!

yes . I have Rhode island red and barred rock my barred rock has bean siting on her eggs will the hatch
