Hey yall!

I was born in WA state, where my chicken interaction was helping my grampa collect eggs and holding baby chicks. Now as an adult and being married to active duty Army, we go through eggs like crazy. So I bought my first chicks. I was told that they are Bantams, but I'm not sure that's what they are because I cant find anything that looks like them.

My girls are fully of personality at 8-9 weeks old. Every morning they race me to the back door back into the house. 8-9 weeks old here


About 2 weeks old here?

Hi, thank you. I was informed that they are black sex links. :) which makes me laugh because they are so super sweet and the bad reviews are just crazy to me.
 
Ive found that to be true. My girls race me to my back door to get in the house. They are so funny to watch with the dogs too. If a dog gets too close for comfort they give a few slight pecks and the dog wonders off. They're so cute, they even sit on top of the dogs while the dogs are laying down.
 
I tend to think ownership has a lot to do with it - nice people seem to have nice animals, and grouches have the ankle biters. Your girls are very happy to be with you. I wish we could see a video of them racing you to the door and climbing on your dog. My friend has 3 house chickens - all bantam hens and they steal the dog's toys and eat from his dish.

When they pretend they are going broody, they take over his bed. He's a very good sport. When my friend leaves the house, they end up sleeping by the door. They go nuts when she comes home - just like a dog, and fight for the best space on the chair when they watch tv with her.
 
I have to agree with you. You cant have happy chickens (or any animals) if your not happy.
I would love to let thim in the house buuuut, hubs isnt a fan of chicken droppings in the house. Your friends chickens sound super cute and very entertaining.
