Hey Yall!

I'm located in South Mississippi, minutes away from the Gulf of Mexico. I just built my first coop and excited for my first flock. This first coop is small so I'm only looking for 3-4 chickens until I can upgrade. Anyone else from South MS on here that could give me some tips on where they purchased their laying hens? I don't want to mess with chicks for this first coop. Looking forward to reading about tips and starting my flock!

Maybe you could check out your local craigslist, talk to other chicken folk. Look for adds at your local feed and farm stores.
If you are on facebook or other social networking sites you may find people near you with extra hens they will part with.
