Hey Yall!

Welcome to BYC!
Some roosters and cockerels give them all a bad name. For the most part, I think once they get past the teenager (hormonal) stage, they're fun to have around.
I'd suggest keeping the ones you like the best apart from the girls, and rehoming the others.
Thank you, that is good advice :) they are all very beautiful and I'm still trying to figure out the breeds. The 1 boy is so gorgeous and I'm a little nervous he may be an old english bantam as they unfortunately have a pretty bad rep for the aggression. It wouldn't concern me much if I didn't have a young child fostering his own love of chickens now and don't need a sassy teen boy diverting that right off the bat haha

Actually oeg bantams are reputed to get along well with people. They are said to be aggressive with other roosters. I can't say, as I've never had one.
Do you have pictures? We may be able to identify some for you.

Ohh that could be good news for us then. To an extent as we have multiple boys right now haha this is the one I can't quite identify

So after constantly seeing BYC come up when googling various chicken topics I finally decided to join! My great granddaddy fostered my love for chickens when I'd visit him on his farm and see his beautiful guineas roaming around and the serenity they all gave off. (Except his roos..he always had feisty roos haha) Finally moved to a town that allows chickens and got my babies in April. We got at least 2 each of around a dozen breeds to have variety in our flock. My big girls are amazing and I'm still learning what their language means. Sometimes the sounds are hard to tell if they come from love or from evil but they are treated as royalty so hopefully the former haha currently building their nesting boxes as we anticipate laying to start within a month or so! I finally joined this community because of my bantams. After a long winter battling cancer and having my choice of more children taken away from me I fell in love with the teeny babies one emotional day getting feed at TSC. Well..I couldn't resist and brought home 8 precious little gems. 3 varieties it seems (im not 100% sure what they are yet tho!) and wouldn't you know...I have 6 roosters now 😳🤦‍♀️. Now I need the support of this community to navigate through these moody little boys, 2 are crowing at 6 weeks and it makes my heart melt but also tremble a little recalling the feisty roosters of yore 🤣🤣 in any case, thank you for the welcome into the community and be on the look out for the inevitable questions and pictures!! With love, Momma
