I am fairly new to owning chickens! It all started when a co-worker was looking to get rid of one of his 3 roosters and after a week of thinking it over I decided to adopt one! After several weeks we purchased 6 chicks and I quickly feel in love with them and 4 more were purchased (RIR, “barred rocks”, golden comet, Leghorns, & Cochin bantams). We later added some EE’s...the cheeks and colorful eggs sold me! We currently have 18 and unfortunately have had a run in with a skunk and hawk and quickly learned how to try and Fort Knox our coops!
