I found one of my hens this morning. Well just the head and some feathers. What would kill them and leave the head?

I found one of my hens this morning. Well just the head and some feathers. What would kill them and leave the head?

That is strange, but maybe the varmint got its fill or got spooked away, and missed a piece. Likely a raccoon or possum, or even a coyote. They kill and eat on site. A fox carries the whole carcass away to eat later.
