Hey

Thank you! @drumstick diva ,@NorthFLChick , @rainbowhatchery

@Michael O Shay That's really interesting and good to know, with orphingtons how long until they can be sexed?
We were hoping to get a rooster for them at some point, because my sister is wanting her own coop

They can probably be sexed accurately at 5-6 weeks although sometimes Orpingtons give even experienced owners sexing problems at that age. I would post them at 5-6 weeks on our What Breed or Gender is This? section at https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/15/what-breed-or-gender-is-this and let our experts who frequent there take a look at them. Good luck in getting a rooster.

Hi and welcome to our flock!

So glad you could join BYC! Sounds like you have a lovely flock. Buff Orpingtons have such good temperaments and Rhode Island Reds tend to be very good layers. Seramas are cute little birds, too.

You should be able to sex Orpingtons by about 8 weeks old. Sometimes they are much harder to sex, and other times you can tell at 4 weeks old. Males will develop larger, redder combs faster.

Good luck with your flock of chickens! I hope you enjoy BYC as much as we have.

Thank you! I Will definitely check it out and do so when the time comes :)

And Thank you! @Kelsie2290
