Heya! Chicken Newbie/Farmer with questions 4 gurus!

Welcome! I have my girls in my school garden, and regularly give eggs to other staff and faculty.

Are you thinking of basic supplies for chicks? For that, you need:
Brooder (for them to live in for the first few weeks)
Chick waterer or shallow bowl with stones or marbles
Chick feeder
Some sort of bedding
A heat source (brooder heat plate recommended)

Chicks will need constant looking-after. They dirty their water constantly, kick bedding into their feeder, etc. If you want friendly hens, you should also interact with them a lot. The seniors may enjoy playing with the chicks and, later on, sitting with the hens.

Amen, Jen. Thanks for the cute welcome! How many chickens to you have?
Only 3 chocolate English Orpington hens.
But also three pilgrim geese, and 20 silly Ducks of various breeds .
And I am in Maryland as well - the most northeast corner
