Good Morning everyone. New to being registered but not new to the information gold mine this forum offers, so first, Thank y'all!!
My name is Kortni. We live in the bottom of Georgia. I've had chickens for eight years, but most of that time it was the standard 4-6 hens, no rooster bc of our neighborhood. We moved a couple years ago and the coop has been expanding ever since.
We have probably 20 chickens, 9 juvies and 5 new babies. 1 Narg turkey hen, 1 juvie and 3 new babies.
We've recently started hatching, naturally and with incubator. Another big reason I come here with questions!! You guys have seen it all!
I have recently started working from home, leaving my office manager job to concentrate on photography. The birds have become my saving grace. It was hard at first, even though I knew I was making right decision for my family. So my four year old and I have started selling eggs and chicks to supplement. We would love to expand to a market farmstand. We are vegan so we don't eat our eggs and it's nice to offset their cost, especially when you spoil them like I do. We garden organically and love fresh sprouts, we make in a jar. We are trying to go back to a more simple and connected life. We actually decided yesterday to try our hand at building chicken tractors to help with the recent boom of chick buying
We have all kinds of breeds, pure and mixed. We absolutely love our Seramas the best. I know they are not hot topic for egg production, but they are the coolest, smartest chicks on the block. Just got into Jubilees, kind of on accident but here we are
