I got an HHD last year from a guy who used it one time, it was $60, and he gave me a second one which was exactly the same, but the fan didn't work I wanted to play with the second machine, (should have been a clue) Below is the incubator- don't judge the temps, I was playing with it at this point. Last year I hatched and got 16/20

like I said I was playing with the temps for a couple of days, I had thermometers inside incubator and not trusting the temps. I put some on line eggs and some I got from a healthfood store and a friend. I had to remove the non-fertile eggs, and had a total of 21. First 2 weeks, I had it at a lower outside digital temp but was regulating by the read on the inside non-digital thermometers. Then it seemed to be needing the foam, so I put it in the foam, then the outside and inside temps were matching up. Now day 19 dumb pooper head of an incubator was going down to 33c and not budging, towels didn't make a diff. So I moved my eggs to a home made incubator, that has been reliable...

The eggs I have left so far 18, and many were bopping in the air cell, I hated moving them at this time, but I couldn't get that temp up, there were no pips, so that is good.

(Manuals didn't help.) I am getting a diff incubator, it will not be here for this batch.

I am going to play with the machine a bit longer, see if I can get it going again.

I am going to play with the parts, and make a frankin bator below is the lower part of the incubator, plastic part, with a pan, (no water in it so shush) The pan is only to block the heat, bulb is 15w plastic part is in the foam. Foam is in the box, Then.....

well, yeah, cheap Chinese batons are well known for being unreliable. most people buy the just for the egg turning mechanism and rig it up to work better

Oh no! The terrible yellow top China-bator has struck again! If nothing else you're extremely resourceful and quick thinking with your homemade incubator. I hope that your hatch still happens without a hitch! Good luck! :fl

Hello,
Please use caution with HHD incubators...
I purchased an HHD 36 egg mini incubator and just hatched out my first batch of baby chicks. The 2 fans in the incubator are covered with white plastic slats. It is best practice to keep chicks in the incubator until they are dry before moving them to the brooder. 2 of my baby chicks put their beaks easily into the fan (the slats are way too far apart to keep the little babies safe). THE FANS CHOPPED THE ENDS OF THEIR BEAKS OFF!!!!! The little injured chicks bled all over the incubator and I had to remove all the chicks right after they were born and blow their little wet bodies dry by hand with a hair dryer, as the humidity was far too high.

Oh no! I'm so sorry this happened!

Hi, what was the name for the incubator with the yellow top? My daughter was using the Little Giant ones before, and wanted to try a different one
