Hi everyone! I have been keeping some rescue chickens in my garden in London, UK for the last year.
I've loved it so much, I decided to try and hatch my own this year, so I bought myself a Janoel 12 incubator and 4 Orpington fertilised eggs. 2 didn't amount to anything and one hatched out beautifully last night, but the last one hatched early this morning and is not so well. It has splayed legs, which I have taped together with a bandaid and also a little hernia (maybe half a centimetre big) and a twisted neck. The little creature certainly has some fight in it and is cheeping away, but I don't know if there's anything else I can do to help it?
It's still in the incubator at the moment as it still doesn't seem very fluffy. Is there any hope for this little one?

With weak chicks I like to leave them in the incubator overnight so they can gather up some strength before being taken out. Prepare some scrambled eggs and crush it up small to feed the baby.

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
I second offering it some egg. Also poke a hole in a Vitamin E capsule and squeeze a drop into the egg and add a 2 or 3 drops of poultry vitamins and minerals into the mixture.
Have you seen it eat on it's own yet?
It's still in the incubator and only hatched around 7 hours ago. Should I put some egg in now?
