Hi all and help please! New baby chick!

My little chick is still alive. It's legs seem much better and it's little hernia seems fine, but the neck is still really twisted. If I stand the little thing up and hover my hand over it's head so it can't push it up any further, it stands up perfectly, but as soon as I move my hand away, it just falls over 😞. I have given it a little water from a Calpol syringe but still haven't managed to get it to eat. Is there anything else I can do? I really feel like this little one wants to live, it's still very much fighting for it!

Hi how is your chick now? Has it eaten? If not I would be tempted to put yolk mixed with vitamin E into your syringe and see if you can build her up that way.
 
No real improvement. I have been able to at least get some fluids in, with some extra vitamins. Food is a whole different problem though. If I wipe a little tiny bit if scrambled egg onto its beak, I might be lucky and it might fall in, but it's not "willingly" pecking at any food. I just don't know what to do to make it eat. Any ideas? It still seems quite strong all things considered!

I think you should start a thread in the emergency forum. However, I will tag a couple of people to see what they suggest.
