Hi all and my first question

Hi all, new here. Was searching the web for a question on one of my hens and found this form.

We have a hen that is getting red on the top back of her tail, see picks. We never see it being pecked at, could this be mites? or ??? Thoughts? Her head is missing a few feathers because this was the roosters favorite hen, he is gone now so we are hoping those feathers regrow.

Same condition as the neck feathers. Over mating. They will regrow. We've currently four very loved hens that are in much worse condition. Two are barely missing feathers and other two about the state of yours. Almost down to one cock bird now. The gumbo didn't go over well with rest of family so waiting for a person to pick up the next cock to go.
