I just wanted to say hi to all of you. I have been lurking around this site ever since Hurricane Ike when I had to evacuate from here to Austin for two long weeks. I stayed with a friend there and noticed that a lot of people in his neighborhood had chickens in their back yards. I found this site there and have been addicted ever since. I just got 8 wyandotte chicks a week ago and they are growing fast it seems. I think my pit bull wants to mother them and my chihuahua wants to eat them!!! They are in the brooder box and act like they want to come out. I started on building my coop yesterday and have only changed my mind 12 times today. Well, four post are in the ground anyway. I let you know how this chicken adventure goes. I think it's going to be fine!
