Great to meet you all! Still a fairly new chicken owner here. We got our first girls in March of 2012. We started with 6 RIR and 1 Barred Rock we also had 2 pekin ducks, but one of them went to ducky heaven shortly after we got them.
2 months ago we received 4 hens (what we thought were all hens) from a neighbor who had bought too many. They gave us two Golden comets and 2 Americaunas. One fo the Americaunas is a Rooster! Just figured it out the other day when he started trying to crow! He is by far the friendliest of that group of chicks! I hope to keep him, but not sure if we will yet or not.
Can't wait to gather up all the great information that is shared here and I already have a ton of questions that I am going to start searching for answers here!
