In the Brooder
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? We got our chicks April 12, 2022
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? 10
(3) What breeds do you have? Two Golden Sexlink, Salmon Faverolle, 2 Easter Eggers, California White, Golden Laced Wyandotte, Speckled Sussex, Silkie and a Blue Cuckoo Marans rooster (surprise!)
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? We got them because my 11-year old daughter had been wanting chickens for years. I love it that she is so involved with taking care of them and is outside so much more every day.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Reading, cooking, crochet, random arts and crafts as the mood hits
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. We have three kids, aged 16, 14 and 11. The 16 year old likes the chickens a little bit, but the 14 year old can’t stand anything about them. We also have two lab mix dogs, who we can’t allow near the chickens because I can just see them licking their chops.

. I found BYC through a google search once when I had a question about my chickens. It is such a helpful community!
