Plus the stress of moving them to a whole new environment, you have to prove yourselves to them, they are still afraid of you like you might be if you were grabbed from your home and taken to a new location where you had to deal with all new management. Give them some time and some treats to eat.... Mine are not pets, some of them will let me catch them but most, well, just try to avoid being caught. They hang back in case I've a treat for them but charge right in wanting to be first if I do have something. In every batch of hens I've ever had, only a few birds would actually seem like they wanted to be held.
