I understand you wanting to let your daughter experience the process. I am

and I was in amazement when the chick started to hatch. It is an exciting experience for me every time.

However I urge you to line up a place for the chicks before you start. I don't know where you are from. If you are in an area where people raise chickens then of course it would be easier than if you live in a big city. If you live rural maybe you could consider keeping them and raising them, and more!! They really are a joy for me as well as a food source. (We don't butcher but we do enjoy eggs.)

Most people post an add on craiglist and have no prob finding homes. I am in the same boat. I got my new incubator for mothers day but can't have babies till after we move. I found a friend who had eggs she wanted incubated so it worked out great. Good luck.

If you're truly going to give them away (vs selling them) then you shouldn't have any problem if you list them for free on Craigslist.

Speaking from many years experience with rescues, finding GOOD homes will likely require some concerted effort because there are too many creepy people out there who might comeacross as nice but who would hurt them. I would find and carefully investigate potential homes first.
