I’m new to BYC and glad there’s a community like this out there! I’ve already read lots of things on his forum and figured I’d join myself.
I got 8 olive egger pullets back in April. Sadly, two of them were killed by a crazy little dachshund. But I still have 6, and they have just started laying!! Their eggs are little, and two of them were double-tolled the other day which shocked me. A few month or so ago I was shocked to hear crowing outside and realized one of my she’s was a he. I had already named “her” Matilda, but now he’s Matthew the rooster.
I love my beautiful birds. My son says “Matthew!” or “rooster!” when he hears him crowing, which to my surprise, is ALL DAY LONG!!! Thankfully my neighbors don’t mind. We told them we were certainly not getting a rooster...oops!
Matthew is getting aggressive, and my first post was a question about how to deal with him without eating him or giving him away!
So anyway, that’s my story!
