Hi All,

I want to start an outdoor chicken farm with 300 birds,
Can anyone help me how big the chicken house should it be and any design in autocad?
What chickens to chose?
What to give them to eat and drink and what type of system.

Thank you

Hi! :frow Welcome to BYC! 300 is a little more than backyard chickens. I would have no idea how to advise. Hope someone else on here can give you some good information. Did you make a search in the forums?

Hi Valerie,
Thank you for replying.

I did some search but WOW this site is big and i cant find what im looking for.
LOL I feel your pain! I just don't know what to tell you. Basically I follow the rule of you need a coop much larger than you think and a run or pen much bigger than you think too. They say a coop should be 4 SF per chicken and the run should be 10 SF per chicken. I think that's too small for my free spirited chickens. But the quantity you are talking about is like a commercial flock to my thinking and, to my disappointment, they do not give anywhere near that much space to their chickens. The only one I will buy commercial eggs from is the Happy Egg farm. https://happyegg.co/ You might visit their site and ask some questions of them.

Do you want to sell eggs or meat?
Why 300 birds?
What do you mean by 'outdoor'?

um can i find a free autocad or pdf plan anywhere!???
Not here and not likely to find a coop design that large here either.

Oh, and Welcome to BYC! @KosVision
Where in this world are you located?
Climate, and time of year, is almost always a factor.
Please add your general geographical location to your profile.
It's easy to do, (laptop version shown), then it's always there!
