(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? Recently purchased two hens three or four weeks ago. I've currently lost all concept of time and can't remember how long exactly.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now? Two

(3) What breeds do you have? A Blacktail and an Orpington Buff

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? I'm still learning but loving their individual characters.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Currently? Drinking pink gin and self isolating.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I'm a mum of two boys and a step mum to a girl (this made me realise I was definitely put on this earth to raise boys) I work in financial complaints in London and enjoy the challange it brings although I live in Essex and don't so much love the daily commute, although weirdly I'd love to be able to commute in the current climate. Also own a siberian husky called Evie.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D
I found BYC trying to get answers about my challenging blacktail. And everyone on here seems so friendly.

It's a cross between a Rhode Island Red and a light Sussex. I actually wanted to get an Araucana or a Maran but we couldn't find any but apparently Blacktails eggs are similar to the Maran's so went with that, then chose an Orpington to we could tell the difference between them. Little did I know how quickly you'd be able to tell the difference based on personality alone. But I do love my Orpington, she's such a sweetheart.
