Hi all!
I'm P and I am very new to the chicken world. We purchased 3 Rhode Island Red's and 2 Ameraucana's, all pullets from a local feed store on Sunday. So far everyone seems to be doing well with just a few bumps in the road! Many of my family members have chickens, but this is new to me. We have 2 cats who stay inside, and hilariously enough they still are unaware that there are chicks living in the bathroom! In the next few days we will be building a coop and setting up our run. I am sure I will have lots of questions! Speaking of, I am using fine pine shavings in their brooder. They are pecking quite a bit, which I believe is normal, but it seems like sometimes they will eat some of the pretty small pieces. Is this a problem? Thanks so much
