My name is Nicki. I have 28 chickens, 4 turkeys, 2 ducks and a gazillion quail. 
(ok maybe not quite that many). I started with just 8 chickens, funny how that math works. Decided I really love the birds that I swore for years I did not want. My husband and I are talking about raising butchering birds this year. So interested in learning more on this. The ones we have are pets that give us and those around us eggs. (We supply eggs free to those in need in our community) Quail has become a new interest and they will hopefully become a little bit of income along with some quick self-sufficiency. I learned of this forum from My Shire Farms. It is important to me to learn and grow my knowledge, keeping my flocks safe and healthy. Also having like minded peeps to converse with and share experiences together.
