There are many many breeds to choose from. Do you need birds that are particularly heat/cold hardy? Any egg color preferences?

Yes there are! Here a few breeds that lay white eggs.Thanks.Is there a happy medium on hit or cold hardy? Lol I live in Alabama and need a little of both . I'd love white eggs that are larger.
I will. Thank you so much!!Yes there are! Here a few breeds that lay white eggs.
Andalusian- Decent layers of medium-large eggs. Being a Mediterranean breed, they do not do well in severe cold.
Ancona- Good layers, but eggs tend to be on the small side.
Hamburg- Good layers, but eggs tend to be on the small side.
California White- Good layers have large eggs.
Campine- Decent layers of medium size eggs.
Lakenvelder. Decent layers of medium size eggs.
Leghorn- The most popular white egg layer. Great layers of large white eggs, but being a Mediterranean breed they don't do well in severe cold.
Do some research on all the different breeds to find the which ones suit you best.
