I have lurked on this site on and off for a couple years, but now I'm getting serious about chickens. I have acquired a few that piqued my interst and have show potential. Among those I'm most excited about are: a lavender silkie roo, a trio of white crested black polish, and a white crested chocolate polish roo. I also have a darling sizzle. My chickens are for pets and to show.
I grew up with chickens. at least as a young child. I just like having them around even though I don't eat eggs. Since I wasn't exposed to the details of their care as a child, I'm pretty much a newbie and inexperienced and will no doubt ask some pretty dumb questions as I get started.
By the way, I also raise and show llamas. Other extended family members include 11 parrots, 5 barn cats, a Yorkie and a Great Pyrenees.
