Hi, another newbie from Missouri

I'm very excited to join this great community! Been reading a lot of posts on this site and learning all kinds of things. My husband and I are building our chicken house, just about done with it. Working on nest boxes right now. What dimensions does everyone suggest on that ? We are ordering our chicks Mon. We are getting 10 Buff Orpingtons, 10 Black Astralorps, and 5 Plymouth Rock, all pullets, we hope, lol although 1 rooster would be ok. Thanks for all the info I've used from this site so far.

Our nest boxes are 15 inches deep, 15 inches wide, 15 inches high with a 1x3 on the front to keep eggs from rolling out. We also have a sloped roof on the nest boxes to keep the chickens from roosting on top of them.

Thanks for the welcome guys. I've been reading posts all day, & I think I am going to add a few Welsummer chicks and a few Faverolles to my order Mon. I've decided I want a little more variety, lol. I'm afraid we may have to add on to the chicken house before we even get our chicks if I keep reading
