In the Brooder
Hi everyone! My name is Amber, and my husband, Richard, and I live in South Carolina.
We are new to chicken keeping and have a small flock of ten; three buff orpingtons, two lavender orpingtons, two plymouth barred rocks, and three silver penciled plymouth rocks. Three are roosters, seven are hens, so we will likely look to re-home two roos soon to keep a healthy and happy hen to rooster ratio. Our lavender gals are around 14 weeks, and the rest are around 21 weeks! Expecting our first egg any day now, so that is exciting
One thing I have really enjoyed so far is watching our chickens each develop their own little personality, it really is very entertaining!
If we aren’t home with the chickens tending to the garden, we love to get out and go hiking or traveling with our two golden retrievers.
We have learned so much from this community within the last four months and I am excited to continue to be a part of it!
