Chirping
(1) We got our girls as chicks in Oct 2020. Had power safety shutoffs due to fire risk (CA), so had to use a generator for the first week to keep our babies warm!
(2) We have a small flock of 15 right now
(3) Currently have Red Stars, Black Australorp, Black Copper Marans, Barred Rock, Gold Laced Wyandotte, and Easter Eggers
(4) Love the eggs and providing my family with eggs too! No one has had to buy eggs over the last year and a half
Also love that my young kids get to experience taking care of our flock and bond with our cute chickens!
(5) Gardening: fruits, veggies, trees and flowers
(6) We live on 2 acres with our 3 kids, Heeler/Cattle Dog, 2 house cats + 1 stray cat that seems to be adopting us, also a small fish tank, cockatiel and of course our 15 hens. Not sure how that many animals happened….
(7) We had so many questions on how to care for our girls and no reliable source to get info, BYC has helped a lot from just lurking over the years and now I have some questions and know that someone on here will probably have some advice! Thank you!
