Hello, i'm a new member. My name is Craig. Timing has been perfect as some of my Wood Duck eggs hatched in time to share them with you all in my posting debut. I'm pretty excited about the whole process. They were incubated by my broody Cayuga female, who has 7 fertilized eggs of her own. That fact is a bit odd given my only other birds are 4 lady Pekins. But, I basically live in a swamp on the non-dammed side of a large CT lake. There are Wood Ducks, Mallards, Black Ducks and some sort of tree duck with a nest. I can't get a good enough look to decide what it is, but it haunts me everytime i'm in the area in my boat. I'm thinking a wild drake stepped out on his mate. I'll find out in a few more weeks.
