Hi I'm a new member here, although I have been peeking in your forum for a few months. It seems that my google searches into things chicken keep bringing me to these pages, so today I decided to join up.
I was raised on a large Wyoming ranch where we had most every critter you could think of; horses, buffalo, cattle, dogs, goats, turkeys, guineas, geese, ducks, and of course lots of chickens. My father was injured badly when I was a teen and had to give up ranching. We sold the ranch and moved to town. We did lease some land near town and kept a dozen or so horses for another ten years or more.
Well that was all fifty some years ago, since then I've become a mason then a masonry foreman, and a masonry contractor, and more recently an exhausted rooster with a new place to live back in the country last fall.
Well, I'm starting over, this spring I ended up purchasing six Golden Comets, four Barred Rock, and two Production Reds. I remember some chicken stuff, mostly gathering eggs and shovelling poop. So I need some refresher courses here.
