Hi!
I am new to Backyard Chickens and a New Chicken Mom!
I've wanted chickens for years and husband always said no. The dogs will pester and bother them. Our neighbors got chickens, he realized that we could do this... violà, he was building a coop and run and we have 9 lovely girls!
I'm excited to get to know friends here, learn and discuss chickens!

They are so curious! We have whippets, and while I won't free range with the dogs out (that high prey drive has been evident over the years with the squirrel and some of them meeting a whippet demise) they are only curious and just sit around the run staring and pawing at the fencing. In a way that reminds me of how gentle they really are. I won't take my chances... but they aren't pestering or barking at them! Ha Ha
