I want to introduce my self and my brood. Unfortunately I lost one of my two egg layers today. I noticed she would not come out of the coop with the other ones on sunday She just sat on the roost. I also noticed under the roost was lime green poop. So I went online and also went to my local feed store trying to get information. I have only had chickens for almost a year. I am still not sure what it was. My other three chickens seem to be okay for now but not sure if I should give them something.
She was an Americana about a little over a year old. I have another americana I got them full grown from my sister - in law. I bought two young chickens from the feed store. I am hoping they are hens but I think they are roosters. I will send pics in the what gender and breed section.
So if anyone has any suggestions I would be grateful. Thanks Chris

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

So sorry you lost one of your hens. Have you wormed your birds lately? She may have an an over load of worms. So you might worm them as a preventative. Worms kill birds fast. You can use some Wazine in the water. You can get this at most feed stores. It only kills round worms, however the round worm is the most common worm in poultry.

Good luck with your flock! I hope your other birds don't turn into roosters!! :)

I have not wormed them. I was going to use rooster booster wormer. Is this a good product.

We're glad to have you.

I'm sorry to hear about your bird! Do you know if she was still eating before she died? Was her crop full?

I mixed up some pellet krackles with yogurt and buttermilk. She would not eat much a couple pecks
