I also talk to a chicken several times a day, but don't tell anyone.

Welcome to BYC, Petachicken!

Welcome to BYC! I'm Laney, I have 13 Free Rangers who get some extra pellets in the morning so I can do a head count. They always come running when I come to the pasture gate!

4 Standard White Cochin, 5 Silver Phoenix, 1 Mottled Java, and 3 Delaware.

Yes, pet a chicken, not...peta- chicken..lol...

And I too talk to my girls, say thanks a lot, its become personal...lol!
We were given these girls for free after some one heard I had built a coop (thanks to BYC of course).
In fact everything I know about chickens comes from BYC.

Though my wife is allergic to eggs, my little girl and I enjoy them and since we have a bit more than we need now, we give a some to the food bank and do more baking than we used to.

My girls live with two rabbits (also free range but pets), five cats, one nosy dog, two parakeets and, right now, about three hundred Queen Ann spiders.

PetAChicken!

Here on the Coast of Oregon, we get massive spider hatches in mid Summer, they are still around. Webs everywhere, in the cars, on the cars, the house is dripping with the webs this morning. They are harmless, including the one that lives over my kitchen sink and gets any pesky flies for me.
With the chickens, we get flies which begat the spiders..which the chickens will eat.
Its "nature, Dad", that's what Stella says!
