I have found that chickens are great animals. I have 5 silkies and 3 rhode island reds. They are 2 1/2 months. I'm having a hard time figuring out if I have any hens with my silkies.

Its a little early to be sure, though they do appear to be pullets. Look out for streamers in the tail or head, a larger comb or wattles, longer legs or a larger body. These are signs of roosters.

Silkies are one of the most difficult breeds to sex accurately before 4-5 mos. of age. Sometimes not till they crow or lay eggs. It's better to buy them as point of lay pullets or mature hens so you don't get stuck with a bunch of cockerels.
