Hi everyone! I am a newbie to the site with a question on chicken comb health.

Thank you for your reply, for some reason I didn't see it sooner. I am going to go ahead and worm him just in case he hasn't been recently. We put poultry vitamins in his water, and within the past few days the red color of his comb has improved greatly, maybe that has helped. Thanks again for responding :)

Love the idea of coconut oil! I never thought of that and have 2 bottles of it hear that we use all the time for mixing with essential oils. His comb color has improved, after adding some vitamins to his water, not sure if that helped or not, but I will definitely try the oil to sooth his skin because it looks very dry. Thank you so much! Sorry my response was so late!

Thank you! We are happy to have him as our replacement Roo. I did not find any mites, but looks like just prior to his travels the prior owner maybe put a good coat of some sort of powder, maybe Diatomaceous earth, he's still shaking it off. I will be keeping a watch out for mites. I guess I have never ordered an adult chicken offline and wasn't sure what to expect, I will probably ask a lot more questions next time. Thanks so much!

P.S.

Thank you everyone for your responses and your warm welcomes! We named him Mr. Broadway, because he came from NY and we live in Alabama, lol!
