Hi everyone!
Right now in our inside brooder we have three 6 week olds, one 7 week old, and three 10-12 week olds. (I know the bigger ones need to go outside, we’re building the coop as soon as our septic is replaced in a lil over a week) Would it be possible to integrate three 3-4 week olds? Also, we only bought sex links or sexed chicks, so we should only have pullets. (Though we doubt one of the older ones) Any help is appreciated! Thanks all!!
Edited to add: Our brooder right now is 5' x 2.5' with a heat lamp (our house is cold, oil is the worst)

Honestly I wouldn’t put chicks that young in with 10-12 week olds. At least not without some sort of barrier. I always have different aged chicks in my brooder room but I have the room sectioned off. New chicks go in one section and special needs chicks in another. I have a third section as well for the in between chicks. The room at large is for the older birds to run around.

Maybe you can do something like this in your set up. Use a piece of fencing to create a temporary wall until the older chicks get used to the smaller ones, and the risk of trampling has passed.

6 and 7 weeks will do fine together. But 12 weeks old probably will peck the young ones severely for the first week or more.

The 12 week old certainly don’t need warmth anymore in most countries. So inside in a large cardboard box/ one side covered with HWC and with a roost to sleep on, wil be fine for just one week.
Best keep the two setups in view to each other.

Next week /in two weeks if the weather is fine they can all go outside in 2 seperated compartments.
