Hi everyone! I'm Amora, I'm 29 years old, I'm brazilian and I got myself three pet chickens. I care a lot for them and I promised myself to do the best I can for them. I'll answer the base questions I found here:

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
New! I got two of them (chicks) in 28th february and one of them (a chick the same size) the next weekend in march so I consider them now 3 months old.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

They're three!

(3) What breeds do you have?

I'm not sure about it myself! One for sure is an Ayam Cemani... I don't think he's a pure one but the vet clearly said he has all the characteristics of a Cemani. The other one looks like some mixed Rhode Island rooster and my yellow one, oh, man, I don't know at all! I just bought them for R$ 7,00. :') I'm sorry to tell, but I suffer from serious depression and I needed urgently some kind company to hang in there. It worked.

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?

They're cute and funny. They don't hurt me. When I feel sad, observing them make me feel better. There's also the possibility of getting some eggs, but I specially like their company. They love jumping and sitting on my lap, shoulder or my on back.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

I like reading romance manhwa and francophone litterature. I'm interested in gardening too, but know nothing about it.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

We live in the countryside in Brazil and my father has a house in the outskirts of our small city in which he raises chickens like... whatever, only with water and corn. He's not interested in learning, but it's different for me. I do love see my chickens happy and playfull. Mine's stay in our main house. We have a backyard with gress, a mulberry tree, some flowerbed... without flowers. Differently from US, there's no predator that could put the chickens in danger.

My parents have two amazona parrots too. I'm having a hard time, since one of them seems annoyed with the chicken's presence when he's outside the cage. The bited my back this week when I was cleaning the flowerbed.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D

In fact, I found it while searching about my Cemani, since they're strange. I can't understand if they will be a hen or a rooster.
