It is very nice to be here! I have always loved chickens, and had them when I was a child. I am finally getting my own backyard flock and cannot be happier. I ended up with my ladies a little sooner than I had hoped (only by a couple weeks) because they are little escape artists! I went to the feed store to get some things to prep to buy some barred rock pullets next month and these beautiful black and brown barred pullets were in the brooder. The manager offered to sell them to me for 0.50 a piece because he was OVER them. That morning when the poor fellow had opened the store all of the pullets had escaped overnight and were just running around the store! They were disappointed when i only bought 6, but i think they were just happy to have a few less of the post Easter teenagers.

I have 6 pullets now and know absolutely nothing about their age or breed. The fellow at the store said they are probably red wyandottes, but wasn't sure. Its going to be a surprise for sure! If anyone has any information or guesses these let me know!

Age: probably about 3 weeks.
That's a guess based on how many feathers they have, but I'm pretty confident they are between 2 weeks and 4 weeks.

Breeds are often hard to tell in chicks and become more obvious as they grow up, so it will probably be easier to figure out later.

That is quite a story about them getting loose in the store!
