There are several silkie threads on BYC, even one on grooming silkies for show. Once you have 20 posts (you can get them fast by welcoming new members) you can participate in the Buy, sell, trade forum - you can also put up an ad "wanting to buy," etc.

You may also want to find your state thread and see if any one there has silkies. Maybe you'd even like Showgirls which are a variety of silkie. Should pop up if you put that in the search thread.

Silkies are fun to keep. Make sure to keep the feathers trimmed out of the eyes so they can see to eat and drink.
