(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I Always wanted chickens but never had the space for them until recently. Our chickens were rescued from a backyard that bred roosters for fighting.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Right now i have 4
(3) What breeds do you have?
Dont know, but i can post picture. I would love to know what kind they are.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
1 of the chickens is very sweet i called her henrietta ( i dont have much of an imagination lol) and of course fresh eggs daily
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I love decorating and helping my husband in his construction business
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
i have 2 adult children that live behind us, 2 rescued dogs..a german shepherd whos 7 and has had 2 hip surgeries and 1 knee surgery, so hes like an old man lol, a 5 month boxer mix that is my sons dog but hes always at my house. Every morning i open my back door and hes there. A 4 year old shih tzu..who also started off as my daughters dog but is bonded with my shepherd, sooooo is also at my house ALL THE TIME!
My daughter has a rescued rabbit, who is potty trained and does NOT live at my house, but i take her vegetable scraps and she loves me. She has full run of my daughters place. My sons fiance has a cat, whos the biggest cat Ive ever seen and grumpy as hell, even my shepherd wants nothing to do with him. 1 african grey that i bought my husband for his birthday as a baby 13 years ago. And now, the 4 chickens
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
i found BYB 4 months ago when i was trying to get all 4 hens to live in the same coop my husband made for them, til this day i could only house 2 together and separate the other 2 as they fight like roosters.
currently my sweetest hen is broody so i gave her 9 fertile eggs and shes been sitting on them for 1 week. So i have lots of questions.
