Hate to start this way, but here I go. I have lost two chickens in three days. The first one I thought was egg bound, she died that night. The second one was a little different. She was fine yesterday, eating drinking, doing her chicken thing with the others and today she was laying in the corner, not moving much, very stiff and smell awful. Can anyone help with this? Very concerned for the rest of my flock.

Thanks in advance

Welcome to BYC - though I am sorry it is under these circumstances.
How old are your birds? What breed(s) are they? Have you had any changes - cleaned a feed/water dispenser, opened a new bag of feed, allowed them access to a new area, used something new in the coop, etc? Is the smell from fluids being expressed from their bodies and, if so, which end is the fluid coming from -- is there visible discharge or crust around the vent or the face?

1 was a sex link and other was a Rhode Island Red, in separate coops. I would say they were both 1 1/2 years old. I haven't change food and give them fresh water daily. The sex link she had fluid around her bottom and the Rhode Island had fluid from both mouth and bottom.

Fluid around the bottom could indicate a retained broken egg. Which needs immediate attention. You can post on the emergencies thread but, if you go offline, no one is able to help you.

Welcome to the BYC flock! We are glad you joined us, though wish it were under better circumstances!
